Welcome to the catalog website of Isuzuperformance. Isuzuperformance is the only
performance parts distributor in North America that is totally dedicated to
supplying you with performance parts for your Isuzu, Geo Storm, Asuna Sunfire,
and Lotus Elan M100 car.
We specialize in Isuzu Impulse/Piazza/Sunfire, Stylus/I-Mark/Gemini, Geo
Storm and Lotus Elan M100.
We are specialists in Isuzu cars, but we do not offer anything for trucks,
suvs, or commercial vehicles, and can not offer any assistance with those vehicles.
Isuzuperformance does not offer new OEM parts, because they
would be cheaper through the dealership, and Isuzuperformance does not offer used
parts beyond those we just happen to have.
The following companies will NOT be carried by
Isuzuperformance, due to their fraudulent business practices, and their past
attempts to defraud Isuzuperformance or it's employees: Erebuni
Aerobutique, Jacobs Electronics, Superchips USA. (This is somewhat less of an issue
currently, because all three of these companies have closed their doors).
Due to Hotshot Systems inability to deliver orders within a two month
time span, we will no longer be carrying Hotshot Systems products. (This company is
also no longer in business).
Due to excessive complaints reporting poor quality and poor fit,
Pacesetter
products will no longer be carried by Isuzuperformance. (This company last introduced
a new product in 2007, and is probably also on their way out).
News
On Wednesdays, We Hunt Mustangs
Following the fun of the September St. Louis PDX, the IPRT Isuzu I-Mark RS was signed up for the October
2016 PDX event. The event was rescheduled due to rain, and it rained again on the rescheduled date. Though
lightning strikes ended the event early, and shortened the sessions, there was a lot of valuable low-grip
driving experience gained.
The first session was under double caution, no passing, and was more like brisk parade-laps, with a few drivers
getting a little too impatient. The second session was much more brisk, learning the ice-sheet in the middle
of Turn 7, and four-wheel-drifting to accelerate through Turn 2 and Turn 6. And the third session became an
exercise in balancing the car just short of the traction limit.
In stock form, Isuzu cars are vague and mushy on dry pavement, and quick and forgiving on wet pavement.
The process of optimizing the car for dry pavement maneuverability typically renders them somewhere between
dangerous and homicidal on wet pavement. We've finally got this car re-engineered to the point it wants
to be pushed hard in the rain, and just asks for more. Most definitely a confidence inspiring day at the
track.
Road Course Anyone?
September 2016 sees the Isuzuperformnace Racing Team I-Mark stretch its legs on the Gateway Motorsports
Park Roval Road Course in the St. Louis Region SCCA's PDX "Track Night In America" program. This
is probably the first time an Isuzu car has been seen on a road course in the US in five or more
years.
Even de-cambered, de-toed, and de-dampened, the SCCA instructor commented that the car was sprung much
more stiff than his Corvette. The car was a lot more sure-footed than expected for an autocross car,
thanks to resolving a lot of geometry issues that have allowed the alignment and adjustments required
to make the car work on the track to be less drastic leaving the car easier to drive.
The car will be seeing more of the road course and PDX events will become a regular part of the
annual motorsport schedule.
Back on the H
Starting the season with an upgrade to larger piston front brake calipers and a new assortment of brake
pads, the Isuzu Performance Racing Team I-Mark saw immediate success in the chilly weather of the
early season events, on the Toyo R1R tires.
As warmer weather set in, the R1Rs lost their shine, and a new set of Hoosier A7 tires in 205/50-15
size took over autocross duty with an amazing level of grip. The IPRT I-Mark ran as high as a 95%
against Fastest Car on tight courses, and as low as a 90% on less favorable horsepower courses.
The St. Louis Region XP Class Points Championship appears to be wrapped up with several events
remaining. The little car performing favorably against a V8 Miata, MR-2 Turbo, and Honda Del Sol.
Isuzuperformance Racing Team Driver, Bill Luton, Wins St. Louis Region SCCA 2015
X Prepared Class Championship
The Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark RS returned to the podium for the 2015 season.
The change to Toyo R1R tires in the Miata/195mm tread width resulted in an immediate jump to the points
lead at the beginning of the season, as the tires proved much quicker on cold wet surfaces. But revealed
themselves to be greasy on hot pavement as summer arrived.
Friendly class rival Mike Marshall, in his 500+ HP LS motor Factory Five Daytona Coupe (Shelby Cobra Hard
Top), jumped to a top-ten raw time finish at full throttle crossing the finish at Event 4, shredding the
drive shaft, damaging the underbody, and putting him out of competition for most of the rest of the season.
Dispite the greasy tires, the IPRT I-Mark scored victories in competition against a 160 HP RHD 1990 Honda
CR-X SiR and a 400+ HP LS1 engined 1986 Mazda RX-7. The little red car would even take Overall Prepared
Category Fastest Times for two events, away from friendly rival Jim Lynch and his 230 HP E Prepared Class
2002 Ford Focus SVT Turbo.
First place victories include:

Further examination of the tire experience reveals that the Summer Extreme Performance tires are suitable
only for early Spring and late Autumn competition, and the R-Compound tires have an age limit of one year,
after whcih they will not hold rear traction.
Mid Season 2014; Cold Weather Snap Oversteer Diagnosed
The 2014 season began with big changes to the rear spring rates of the IPRT I-Mark RS, to dial in more
understeer and resolve the cold weather oversteer problem. As the limit of the car has been pushed farther
and farther, in temperatures below 90 degrees, the tail of the car had been coming around mid-turn. As
luck would have it, the car would receive valuable diagnostic input from Event 1 co-driver, Mike Marshall,
who stated that the car had a nice predictable understeer and the tail would come around only when the
brake pedal is touched while cornering, and then it would spin. Anyone fully committed to a
left-foot-braking driving style, such as vehicle owner Bill Luton, would not have been able to diagnose
that the issue was a brake bias problem, and not a suspension problem. Attention immediately focused on
the brakes, and some math revealed that the I-Mark is different enough from the 90-93 Impulse/Stylus/Storm,
that it needs a unique brake system itself. Weight distribution starts out more nose heavy at 65/35, and
removing the interior reduces the light tail further to about 70/30. The smallest four piston calipers
available on the rear are 60+% stronger than the 90-93 Impulse/Stylus rear calipers, and the largest four
piston front caliper on the 90-93 Impulse/Stylus front caliper is only 30% stronger than the stock caliper.
Conclusion: Too much rear brake.
So it is time to say goodbye to the faithful little blue heat tinted 9.7 inch front rotors, and take the
rotating mass hit for the larger 11 inch diameter big brake rotors.
The rear suspension has been changed back, handling returned closer to neutral, and expectation is for a
large improvement on hot and cold pavement.
Factory Five Daytona Owner Drives IPRT I-Mark RS, Beats Owner, Proclaims the car is "easy to drive
fast"!
Mike Marshall's Factory Five Daytona Coupe was not ready for the Event 1 of the 2014 St. Louis SCCA Solo2
racing season, and he asked to co-drive the Isuzuperformance 1989 Isuzu I-Mark RS. Like the previous
co-driver, Mike had never raced FWD before. He adapted very quickly, charging the course hard with a
right-foot-braking driving style, but running a little wider than needed on the cones.
Vehicle owner Bill Luton less assertive with the accelerator pedal, chased Mike's times by a little over
a second, ran a tighter line (catching several cones in the process), and struggled with persistent
oversteer issues, related to his developing left-foot-braking driving style.
Mike eventually took the victory by 1.9 seconds.
Mike would later compliment the suspension setup by saying:
Bill really has the car set up nice and (I) found it to be easy to drive fast with one exception. The
rear really wants to come around under hard braking. If you brake hard while turning it really wants
to swap ends.
And:
The way the Isuzu runs through the slaloms and transitions is my goal with the Daytona. If I can achieve
that then I can attack the track like I did in your (Bill's) car. If I can accomplish that then I will
eventually be one of those setting the fastest time.
Mike's comments would help diagnose a brake biasing problem and motivate changes to the brake system
of the IPRT I-Mark.
Our friends at the Front Row Gemini Owners Club have published a five page article titled “America’s
Isuzu Car Club; Bill Luton”, in the October 2013 issue of the Front Row Kaihou. This article
is a biography of Mr. Luton, chronicling his work with Isuzu cars, involvement in the birth of the
North American Isuzu car enthusiast community, the rise of the IsuzuWeb car club, the establishment
of Isuzuperformance and single handed creation of the performance parts industry for Isuzu cars in
North America, the fallout of the great club schism, and Mr. Luton’s continued involvement in
motorsports.
We would like to thank the Front Row Gemini Owners Club for extending this honor to Mr. Luton, the
IsuzuWeb, and Isuzuperformance.
2013; Year Of Cold Pavement
The Winter of 2013 in Missouri was 20 degrees below average, and foreshadowed a very chilly year. The
first three events of the season were parka weather, and highly unfriendly to R-compound race tires.
A violent snap-oversteer tendency reared its head, making the Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark RS
impossible to turn at speed. An incorrect rear tire pressure setting was blamed, mildly warmer temps
arrived for mid season, and everything seemed resolved. The weather did not deliver the normal 90+ degree
temperatures until a short hot spell in late Summer, for Event 8. The IPRT I-Mark RS stuck to the ground
like super glue. Driving was just a question of holding the gas pedal to the floorboard, stabbing the
brake to kick the tail sideways to turn, and steer the car through the 15 foot wide course, with the
engine at WOT. No more worries about the JDM CRX SiR and Integra Type R, which could not keep up.
Fellow racers commented: "The handling is perfect, now it just needs 300 HP."
The little car, with 130 HP
stock spec engine, was arguably the best handling Isuzu on the continent, over 3-7 seconds faster than
any Isuzu made or Isuzu powered car currently competing in autocross, namely Impulse RS AWD Turbos and
Elan Turbos in Detroit Region (Michigan), Saginaw Valley Region (Michigan), Snake River Valley Region
(Idaho), and Ohio Valley Region (Ohio), competing in XP, SM, SSP, and IMS classes.
Then chilly weather returned in the Fall, and brought with it that snap-oversteer. Frantic changes to
tire pressure, damper settings, toe, and sway bars were all in vain. The competition's Factory Five
Daytona Coupe made another strong charge to the points championship in the second half of the season.
The IPRT I-Mark RS maintained the lead going into the final event, but could not put in an on-power run
without spinning. So 2013 earns another second place for the IPRT I-Mark RS, behind the Daytona Coupe.
The off season will involve serious scrutiny of the rear alignment settings and rear suspension spring
rate, as well as the possibility of preparing a second car specifically for cold and cool weather
competition.
For Want Of A Nail, A Battle Was Lost
The age old poem explains that for the loss of a nail, a horsehshoe, a horse, a rider, a message,
and a battle was lost, showing how the little details influence the overall results. And the racing
axiom says “To finish first, first you must finish”. For want of a functioning ignition system,
Event 7 was lost. On its sixth and final run, the Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark RS was solidly
on course for a personal record time, and take the victory away from the Factory Five Daytona Coupe.
Then, 700 feet short of the finish, a newly rebuilt distributor melted, the engine stopped, and the
car coasted across the finish line.
In a stock vehicle, the distributor regularly experiences 200°F, the same temperature as the valve
cover. The electronics are rated to 230°F. The IPRT I-Mark, tuned a wee bit past stock and running
a very hot spark, is seeing 250+°F.
We’ve adapted a technique from the Chevy muscle car and Fiero communities, by making a heat sink to
pull heat away from the distributor. The new distributor goes into Event 8 untested, victory will
mean success.
IPRT I-Mark Leading In Class Points At 2013 Mid Season
This year, the little Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark RS may be confused by its XP Class competition,
about just exactly which racing series it is competing in. The long term rival Factory Five Daytona
Coupe returns, maybe this is 1960’s LeMans WSC GT. The 2011 STLSCCA #12 index driver (in a field of 324)
has acquired a small fleet of JDM gray market cars, competing in a 1990 Honda CR-X SiR and a 1999 Honda
Integra Type R, so maybe this is 1990’s N1 or Japan Touring Car. A visit from the neighboring region
Factory Five GTM, perhaps modern FIA GT1/GT3. And the local Cobra club members have started competing
en-mass, making XP look more like 1960’s FIA GT or USRRC.
After sorting through some early season rear grip issues with tire pressures and the new Kumho tires, the
IPRT I-Mark RS has returned top two finishes in the last four races, and leads the series points at mid
season. As has been proven again and again over the past 15 years, successfully campaigning an Isuzu in
motorsports competition starts with turning the automotive food chain upside down.
2012; Lessons Learned The Hard Way
The Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark started the racing season like a rocket, building
a seemingly insurmountable lead by mid season. Only to see the car run successively slower
at each event of the second half of the season.
Equipment improvements during the season included:
Adjustable tension rods to improve cornering.
Parallel brake proportioning valves to adjust brake bias.
A taller front air dam to improve front end grip.
Adjustments to the position of the seat, steering wheel, stick shift, and pedals to improve
vehicle control.
By June, the car was running so fast that stress cracks started showing up around the doors
and rear hatch. It seemed the car was driving out from under its body panels.
July and August were Left-Foot-Brake emersion, followed by September’s lesson in brake cooling
and rotor glazing.
October brought a fuel pump failure, which turned into another lesson. The original fuel pump
had been running out of pressure at high RPM for years, with the engine providing its full
capacity of low end grunt, but seemingly running out of steam at upper RPM in the taller gears.
With a new fuel pump, the car picked up a healthy 20 MPH in top speed.
Despite all this, finish times kept increasing instead of decreasing, as if the velocity of the
car was overpowering the grip of the tires.
Going into the last event of the season, a double-points event, the lead was sufficient that
there was no mathematical way the IPRT I-Mark could loose, even if the car did not attend that
final event. Until the region officials changed the points formula for the final event. And on
a 40 degree Fahrenheit weekend, a Daytona Coupe with throttle issues eked out a
fraction-of-a-second victory over the IPRT I-Mark which spent most of the afternoon sliding
sideways as if on ice skates. And the season points, which should have been a narrow victory
for the I-Mark, turned into a narrow loss.
The final lesson learned the hard way: “Hoosier tires are good for 60 runs, not 120 runs”. The
compound in the tires was past its life in July, and just got harder and lost more and more grip
as the season drew to an end. Looking at the data, it’s clear that the 205 tread width tire is
too large for a ~140 HP, 1967 lb. car, because the tire temperature never got above 135 degrees
(140-160 degree operating range), and the tires are designed to wear through to the cords at the
same time the compound reaches the end of its life. So the car needs a narrower tire and/or a
softer compound tire, which Hoosier does not offer. 2013 will see a change to Hankook tires, maybe
not as much grip, but perhaps a longer life compound.
Eliminating Caster And Camber Fluctuation
Adjustable Tension Rods for 1985-89 Isuzu I-Mark, Gemini, Chevrolet Geo Spectrum and Asuna Sunburst.
The first little tuning trick up the Isuzuperformance Racing Team's sleeve. Tension Rod in JDM jargon,
Strut Rod in Muscle Car jargon, or Caster Rod in Australian car jargon. The stock rubber bushings
flex and compress under acceleration, braking, and cornering, enough to make significant changes to the
caster and camber. The spherical rod end completely eliminates the flex and the alignment changes and
improving handling.
Starting With A Small Lead; Mid Season 2012
The Isuzuperformance Racing Team hit thr ground running in the Spring of 2012, starting the season with
a fully sorted suspension and no changes from the Fall of 2011. By the Event 3, driver Bill Luton was
setting personal records on the Index, pushing the car, and himself. faster than either had ever gone
before, and the I-Mark started lifting the inside front tire again on corner exit. Never one to leave
well enough alone, it was back to tuning springs and sway bars. Event 4 was a disappointment, a very
slow time, only ten percent faster than 2011! A bit more shuffling of springs and sway bars, and
the car is balanced and is not lifting that inside front tire off the ground.
Entering July, the IPRT I-Mark has faced a V8 Mustang, V8 converted RX-7, and a 2002 Pontiac Trans Am,
and leads the points race with three first place victories.
Mike promises to be back with the Factory Five Daytona Coupe, with new suspension, brakes, and fuel
injected Chevy V8 engine. But there are some tricky little tuning pieces for the I-Mark in the pipeline
that will be going onto the car soon, to pick the pace up even more.
And while June's Evo School netted only a .8 second improvement (on a 33 second course), Jinx Jordan's
comment: "This is a FAST car, for a car like this, Left-Foot-Braking is a must.", has been heeded.
Anyone who might come across a little red car, flying through corners, with the engine singing loudly,
and the brake lights lit up like a Christmas tree, then LFB school is in session.

Isuzuperformance Racing Team Driver, Bill Luton, Takes Second Place In St. Louis Region SCCA 2011
X Prepared Class Points Series
The Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark takes a solid second place finish in the X Prepared class
points series in the St. Louis Region SCCA, between the Mike Marshall, the owner of the above pictured
Factory Five Daytona Coupe, and Gary Fogleman, the co-driver of the same Factory Five Daytona Coupe.
The picture illustrates the level of competition that the IPRT I-Mark is up against. This vehicle is
a replica of a Shelby Cobra Hard Top. Make no mistake, Mike has built the car specifically for autocross,
with technical assistance from both Factory Five Racing Inc. and the international owners club.
The IPRT I-Mark started 2011 with a new rear suspension design. For the first four events, the car would
not take a corner above 45 MPH without spinning. The Daytona Coupe was not running at 100% at the beginning
of the year either, but had fewer issues and both driver and co-driver quickly built a lead in the points
series. Co-driver Gary schooled everyone in the class at the fourth event with a shockingly fast time.
In the second half of the season, the IPRT I-Mark was back into the victories and by the nineth and tenth
events it was outhandling the Lotus Exiges. Counting the victories, Mike in the Daytona Coupe finished
above Bill in the I-Mark five times, and the Bill in the I-Mark finished above Mike in the Daytona Coupe
five times. But the points are given by the magnitude of victory, and Mikes early season wins over the
sub-45 MPH I-Mark were large enough that it would have taken an additional two races in the season for
Bill to claw back to first place.
But who complains when they are the 130 HP, four cylinder, FWD car, finishing between two drivers of a
Cobra Hard Top?
1. Mike Marshall, 2007 Factory Five Daytona Coupe, 59117 Points
2. Bill Luton, 1989 Isuzu I-Mark, 58181 Points
3. Gary Fogleman, 2007 Factory Five Daytona Coupe, 56827 Points
2012 will see the IPRT I-Mark starting with a fully sorted suspension.
Lotus Elise Owner Drives IPRT I-Mark RS, Beats Owner, Proclaims "It Handles Better Than The
Lotus!", Beats Three Lotus Exige S Drivers
The engine of Joe Floretta's 2005 Lotus Elise was running rough prior to the final St. Louis
SCCA Solo2 event of 2011 (Event #9), and he asked to co-drive the Isuzuperformance 1989 Isuzu
I-Mark RS. Joe had never driven FWD before, and had never driven the IPRT I-Mark before. But he
got into the car and put down a scorching 44 second time on his first run. Before his second
run, he proclaimed that the I-Mark handed better than his Lotus Elise (0:37). He beat the best
time of the vehicle owner by .633 seconds. But both he and the vehicle owner bested the times
of three different drivers sharing a Lotus Exige S Cup Car (supercharged, 240 HP, AP brake
package).
Vehicle owner Bill Luton raised his own times to a personal record on the index for both the
season and lifetime, and stated that it is clear that the car is no longer holding back his
driving, but his driving is holding back the car. Six plus years of tuning have paid off,
and the handling is right. "Hello, Evo School, when is your next available class opening?".
It's hard to beleive that the Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark RS has been doing battle with
Lotus Sevens, Lotus Elises, Evos, STis, and Daytona Coupes, on a basically stock, transplanted,
90-91 1.6 liter DOHC engine. Power adders had been confined to some aluminum pieces, and a cat
back exhaust, with full concentration going to the suspension. The guiding tenet being "Don't
waste time increasing the power of an autocross car until the suspension is fully sorted so the
car can actually do something with the additional power".
At Event 8, a Super Stock class Elise owning passenger commented:
"Every time you took a corner, I thought you were braking too late, and going too fast.
I was sure you were going to spin. But the car stuck to the ground and made the turn. The Elise
is faster on the straights, but this thing is faster than the Elise in the corners."
If an Elise owner says that a 130 HP, FWD, rear beam axle nightmare corners better than his own
car built by the boys in Hethel, then the suspension is sorted, and it's time to start building
some horsepower.
Out comes an Isuzuperformance header, with a full battery of reinforcement welding, side straps
and gussets, engine block bracket, and big muscle car three bolt collector.
Low Calorie Pulleys
Step two of the 2011 XP Class Points War. Previously set aside for a rainy day, the aluminum
underdrive pulleys go into use. With power steering delete, for the manual steering I-Mark RS,
the two pulley set nets a 7.34 pound drop in rotating mass.
For 1990-93 Isuzu Impulse, Stylus, Gemini, Geo Storm and Lotus Elan with 4XE1 engines, and 1985-89
Isuzu I-Mark, Gemini, and Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum with 4XC1 engines.
Heavy duty bolts heat treated to 230,000 PSI tensile strength are many times stronger than the
OEM bolts, and stronger than ARP bolts (4.5% stronger than bolts rated at 220,000 PSI and 15%
stronger than bolts rated at 200,000 PSI). Prevents throwing of rods through the front of the block
and spun rod bearings caused by failure of the weak OEM bolts.
The Big H On The Big V
Undoubtedly this combination violates numerous laws of the universe. Even the suggestion should cause
a hole to open up and swallow the combination. This is one of a set of Hoosier A6 tires mounted on
Volk TE37 wheels. That is the best autocross racing tire of North America paired with the best light
weight racing wheel of Japan. Anything that good has to be illegal, immoral, and fattening.
The Kumho Victoracers provided many years of racing and very long tread life (300+ runs on a tire!).
But at this time, there seems a distribution or delivery problem with tires from Korea. The US
Isuzuperformance Racing Team members have been forced to switch tire brands and suppliers, to the
Big H and Hoosier Tire Midwest.
Initial results are promising, with a victory over the Daytona Coupe on the first outing with the new
tires. Once the tire pressure settings are sorted, we should see a giant leap forward.
Mid Season 2011; The Uphill Battle Begins
Winter 2010 was marked by the discovery that the custom made rear springs of the Isuzuperformance Racing
Team 1989 I-Mark RS, were in fact 1/3 the spring rate that was ordered from a Kansas manufacturer. This
prompted yet another radical redesign of the rear axle to accept coilover springs. What had been a quest
to find the biggest rear sway bar built by man, became a quest for ever smaller sway bars as tuning
commenced with the 2011 season. Spending five races to sort the suspension on a car that oversteers at
each successive press against the limit, is not the way to build a comfortable lead in a racing series.
Meanwhile, the competition in the Daytona Coupe have upped the ante, Rebuilding the suspension specifically
for autocrossing, taking the extreme step of corner weighting to optimize the handling, and sparing no
expense turning the endurance road racing replica into a cone carving monster. This is accompanied by
an astonishing driving skill development, raising the team from the 78th percentile to the 93rd percentile
in finishing position in a matter of ten weeks.
2011 will be decided in the second half of the season, as the tuning, driving, and spending reach
a frenzied pace.
Type C Engine
The Type Competition was a special edition Gemini built to commemorate Isuzu's Factory Racing Team victories
as All Japan Rally Class B Driver Champion for 1990, 1991, and 1992, and N1 Taikyu Endurance Series Class 2
Champion in 1991.
These limited production vehicles were special edition models equipped with many of the same racing components
of the rally and circuit machines they pay tribute to. Engines were specially assembled with internals carefully
matched for weight and clearances, resulting in factory "balanced and blueprinted" engines, with power output
significantly above the 180 PS (178 HP) of the standard Gemini engine. Visibly, the Type C engine is
set apart from the standard with a blue upper intake manifold and blue valve cover.
This engine is from the Isuzuperformance Racing Team Gemini, removed for inspection, and found to be in
almost new condition. The original connecting rod bolts were replaced with IPRT units, and a fresh set of
OEM piston rings installed, and the engine is back powering the IPRT Gemini.

Isuzuperformance Racing Team Driver, Bill Luton, Wins St. Louis Region SCCA 2010
X Prepared Class Championship
2010 was a particularly competitive year for the X Prepared class, with the addition of several
new contenders as well as equipment and driver training for returning competitors.
The 2007 Factory Five Daytona Coupe driver/owner and co-driver had attended numerous driving schools
as well as changing final drive ratios to maximize acceleration. The Lotus Elise Supercharged driver
returned with another year of experience under his belt. In addition to these, new competitors
included the 2007-2009 STL Region Third Place Overall Index Points winner and owner of a 2005 Subaru
Impreza STi, and his co-driver the 2007-2009 STL Region Top Ten Overall Index Points winner, a Lotus
Exige, a co-driver for the Lotus Elise Supercharged, a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, and a road race
prepped 1994 Ford Taurus SHO whose driver and co-driver have been active racers in the region for
many years.
The Isuzuperformance Racing Team I-Mark competed with no significant equipment changes, and
depended solely on a diet of thorough and drastic alignment adjustments to maximize the affects
of the previous years suspension upgrades, feather like chassis weight, and 130 HP 90-91
stock spec engine, to edge out the competition in vehicles valued at many times more than the
little I-Mark, and all of whom make double or more the horsepower of the little I-Mark.
The driver was quoted as saying "Once we modified the non-adjustable rear axle to allow for toe and
camber adjustment, the car really came to life. Then we took the front alignment settings to
the extreme, and our indexed times dropped noticeably."
Second place was the 2007 Factory Five Daytona Coupe driven by the car owner, third place
was the same 2007 Factory Five Daytona Coupe driven by the co-driver, fourth place was the
2005 Lotus Elise SC (supercharged), fifth place was a tie between the 2005 Subaru Impreza STi
driven by the 2007-2009 third place overall index points winner and the Lotus Exige, seventh place

The team even took the car out for a Gymkhana event at Gateway Raceway on May 8, 2010, as a good
opportunity for a practice session. Bad news for the field of turbocharged Sylvias at the event,
who could not match the little I-Mark's time, even thought the I-Mark has no emergency brake to
induce a drift. All in good fun, and the drifters found a new respect for a well tuned FWD chassis
that can actually inertia drift at speeds as low as 35 MPH.
Isuzuperformance Racing Team Sugiyama Shims
For 1990-93 Isuzu Gemini, Stylus, Piazza, Impulse, Geo Storm, and Asuna Sunfire.

Isuzuperformance Racing Team 4XE1 and 4XF1 Aluminum Crank Sprockets
For 1990-93 Isuzu Impulse, Stylus, and Geo Storm, and 1990-93 Isuzu Gemini and Piazza,

A direct replacement for the long discontinued and brittle cast steel OEM crank sprockets, these
aluminum crank sprockets weigh less than half as much as the originals. The weight savings may
not seem significant, but when combined with the Isuzuperformance Racing Team aluminum flywheel,
clutch pressure plate assembly, crank pulley, power steering pump pulley, alternator pulley,
and cam sprockets, this accounts for a reduction of over 14 pounds 12 oz (14.75 lb) in the
rotating mass of the engine, and a power gain of 25+ HP before even touching the pistons, cams,
intake, exhaust, or computer. Not for sale to the public.

Isuzuperformance Racing Team Four Wheel Endurance Racing Brake Kit
It started as a challenge, to fit the largest body four piston caliper available onto the
stock 90-93 front rotor, then match a four piston caliper for the rear, all retaining the
same fluid capacity as provided by the original master cylinder.
The result was the basis for a completely new modular brake system. This allows for the
use of vented front disks ranging in thicknesses from .81 to 1.0 inches and diameters
from 9.7 to 13 inches, and rear brakes from .29 solid to .86 vented and diameters
from 10.1 to 13 inches. Brake pads are 20-40% larger than original, sweep a wider area
on the rotor, and there are a myriad of different compounds available.
Configured on the OEM brake disks, this system provides about four times the braking
force of the original 90-93 brake calipers, while eliminating brake drag caused by floating
calipers.
Designed for track use on racing vehicles. Designed for endurance racing, 12-24 hour
events, when configured with 1 inch thick vented front rotor and .86 inch thick vented
rear rotor.
Not for sale to the public.

and feathering for more consistent launches. Reinforced and heavy duty construction. Not for sale to the public.

than the long discontinued OEM hub units. Not for sale to the public.
Isuzuperformance Racing Team Driver, Bill Luton, Wins St. Louis Region SCCA 2008 X Prepared Class
Championship
In a season long battle against a Lotus Elise SC (supercharged), the Isuzuperformance 1989 I-Mark RS
proved victorious. Impressive enough considering the I-Mark has been running a 1991 stock trim built
engine, meaning the Elise SC has almost double the horsepower. But even more so because the I-Mark
starting the season on a compeletely new coilover suspension, which was not properly dialed-in until
after the last points event of the season.
