  Patented design adjustable cam sprockets allow for fine tuning of the intake and exhaust timing to change the torque curve, increase torque, and increase horsepower.
  DOHC allows you to increase and decrease overlap of the intake and exhaust events and adjust these independent of each other.
  SOHC allows the intake and exhaust event timing to be adjusted in tandem, but not independent of each other.
  Installation and Adjustment Instructions
  1. Remove one screw at a time from sprocket, clean each hole and screw of all residue and oil. Apply blue locktite on screw threads. Do not disassemble sprocket completely as there may be more than one way to assemble it incorrectly, thus causing runout problems.
  2. Follow manufacturer's manual for sprocket installation procedure.
  3. Most current engines respond to two camshaft degrees (four crankshaft degrees) advance for best results. However, you may like to experiment for a variety of results more suitable to your own personal requirements.
  4. For more low end torque, you must advance the camshaft.
  5. For more high end power, you must retard the camshaft.
  Number 4 and 5 procedures are mechanical engine functions.
  6. For better results, experimentation with the distributor may be necessary, as this is an electrical function seperate and distinct from teh camshaft.
  7. To effect change, loosen the three bolts in the slotted holes and remove the screw between A and R and relocate to desired hole carefully marked.
  8. With each change during experimentation, it is imperative to remove residue of loctite on screws and put a fresh supply on each time. It may be possible to earn the cost of your sprocket back in 10,000 miles or less driving, depending upon the terrain, weather conditions, and your driving habbits.

  Camshaft Regrinding

  Isuzuperformance is the exclusive distributor of Web Cam regrinds for Isuzu engines.
  What is the difference between a hard weld and a standard regrind? A standard regrind takes material off the back side of the cam lobe to increase effective lift. This requires that the additional lach be taken out by adjusting the rocker arm screw. A hard weld adds material to the front of the lobe and does not require any adjustment to take up lash, bacause there is no additional lash, the closed position of the lobe is unchanged. Isuzu DOHC engines do not have rocker arms, the lash is set by placing a shim between the cam lobe and the lifter bucket. This is difficult, expensive to buy more shims, and time consuming. In order to avoid this difficulty and expense, we reccomend using hard weld camshafts with DOHC engines.

    On the rockerless DOHC engines, any grind requires carefully redoing the shims beneath the cam mounting assembly to readjust the gap and lash on the lifters because there is no adjustment to the gap or lash on these engines when the back side of the cam lobe is ground to creat more lift. Utilizing the Hard Weld, this is not needed and the OEM gap and lash are maintained because additional metal is added to the lobe of the cam instead of taking away from the back side of the lobe as in regular cam grinding.

    As is indicated in our catalog, we offer no products for Trucks or Suvs.
    However, we have purchased exclusive rights to distribute all Web Cam products for Isuzu engines, and therefore will accomodate camshaft customers with Trucks and Suvs.
    In order do this, if a customer submits their camshaft(s) to us for evalutation with payment for a regrind and agrees to pay for any additional development or research costs, we will have the camshaft specced and ask Web to reccomend a grind for the customer's application, which, upon approval of the customer, can be done at the prices listed below, or we can return the customers camshafts and payment less shipping and research and development fees, if any are levied by Web.
    R&D fees if a camshaft regrind is not ordered are typically $250.00+ per camshaft.
