IPTOC is planning a 97/98 Christmas or New Year Get Together, to be held
on the weekend of January 17 and 18, at the Old New In in
Bourton-on-the-Water, Glos. GL54 2AF.
This is to be IPTOC's first Isuzu dedicated event and is a social
gathering of IPTOC members and their families, especially
husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, friends, and even pets.
The New Old Inn is a historic establishment having been established in
1714 and is a beautiful traditional English inn with modern facilities
and a lovely atmosphere.
Bourton-on-the-Water is described as "The ultimate picturesque village;
streams, bridges, cottages, and shops, plus exotic birds, our very own
model village (1/9 scale), and a vintage car museum."
Of special interest is the fact that the original Isuzu sales literature
for the 1985 Piazza was photographed in Bourton-on-the-Water. The
picturesque village was used as a back drop to show off the equally
lovely form of the Piazza. Two of those photos were taken in front of
"The Cotsworth Perfumery" and the Old New In. John Belcher has obtained
permission for all IPTOC members who attend the event to photograph their
Piazzas in exactly the same position as the show vehicle pictured in the
Isuzu brochure.
With the strong turnout at the Japanese Auto Extravaganza, forty or more
Piazza owners and their families are expected to attend.
Jon Belcher has plans laid out for a Piazza Roadster (permanent
convertible) in the future, for a promotional vehicle for the club.
